From a design idea, or 3D scan, to bucks, custom blanks, cradles and finished profiles, we love helping Luthiers bring their beautiful instruments to life! Here’s just one of our 2023 projects.
Here we see some of the steps involved in taking reclaimed tone wood (a Cello plate) and recutting it for a new instrument (a Viola) using a 3D scan to develop a suitable toolpath to cut the new plate to the Luthier’s specification, and the finished result.
